Founder Bee Shapiro, who had been covering beauty for over a decade, became pregnant with her daughter Ellis and was living in Brooklyn (hence Ellis Brooklyn!). During this time, Bee found that there were no sophisticated clean options for fragrance, which led her on a journey to redefine perfume in the clean beauty era. Ellis Brooklyn officially launched in 2015, driven by a passion for beautifully scented, sustainably sourced fragrances that evoke well-being and real-life experiences.

All of Ellis Brooklyn's Eau de Parfums are PETA-Certified, Cruelty-Free, and Vegan. The brand believes that global standards, which are tested by labs and backed by real science, are the ideal starting point for clean beauty. Their baseline is the European Union rules, which ban more than 1300 ingredients, and they also compare with rules in Australia, Japan, and Canada, as well as any new scientifically backed research that comes out.

The brand uses glass as their main packaging vessels and minimizes any plastic components, as plastic packaging can slightly leach into beauty products. Each fragrance is thoughtfully cared for from production start to finish, and the bottles can be reused or recycled.

The FLORIST eau de parfum is a celebration of the citrus floral, featuring the enchanting and powerful tuberose, paired with Italian bergamot, golden gardenia, honeysuckle, and jasmine in a stunning arrangement that lingers like a flower-tinted spring breeze. The top notes include Italian Bergamot, Lemon Sfuma, Lily of the Valley, and Pear, the mid notes feature Tuberose Petals, Golden Gardenia, Jasmine Sambac, and Honeysuckle, and the dry notes consist of Upcycled Cedarwood Virginia, Sandalwood Spicatum, and Ambrox.
